Chipped Grills. Who has had replaced by Infiniti?

Just a few general questions. I am upset that Infiniti has made a grill that chips so easily. Mine was chipped in the first month. 18 months later I have hundreds of small to medium sized chips. My paint only has a few. Obviously this is a poorly manufactured product. Here are the questions.

Who has had theirs replaced? At what dealership? and how did you get it accomplished?

My dealer told me they have never heard of the problem. At least one person on this site told me they complained with no solution to my same dealership. Obviously they are not being truthful. There are hundreds of people on this site that seem to have this problem. I wonder if we can compile a list of people and by sheer force get Infiniti to replace them. Post here or pm. Anyone have any ideas I can use to help accomplish this?

I complained and they assessed the damage ... 100's of chips in the grill and only a few on the body. They couldnt fight it. They told me they would replace it in the 1/2 way point in my lease.

hhmm but I didnt get that in writing!

My dealer offered me nothing in terms of a new grill.
It's damage caused by driving.... I guess we weren't supposed to do that.

A lot of us have had their grills replaced. It depends on the Dealer.
There is a big thread on this .

Yes, I've seen many threads on this but most everyone is just complaining and not getting them replace, few have (mostly in Canada). Some have had it replaced and others have been rejected, which is BS. I'd like to create a list of people who have gotten new grills and a list of those that have not. I know that's asking a lot but if a bunch of us make a petiton to replace the our chipped grills I'll bet they would do it. In every case the cost is on Infiniti not the dealer, but my dealer would not make a case for me that this was anything other than regular rock chips. Even my loaner car the other day with 7,000 mile had hundreds of chips.

I have look at my wifes car, my old car, my wifes fathers car when I installed a license plate for him and several 07+ G's. The Infiniti's are the only cars with ANY chips. My last car a 2000 300M have 78,000 mile and the grill was flawless and so was the paint. My paint has about 30 chips, my grill hundreds and even my windshield had hundreds of pin point chips. I've never owned a 17,000 mile car with so many tiny pits in my windshield, it's amazing. The entire surface of my car appears to be soft.

They replaced mine under warranty at the first month or so. I had no paint chip around it. So I asked how is that possible. They told me right away I am right and replaced my grill. After replacement almost 2 years in ownership I had only 2 little pitting on it. Was happy.

Mine has been replaced under warranty. The replacement grille has held up MUCH better than the original one.

Add me to the list of owners whose dealer refuses to warranty the grill. Some day, I'll just change it out on my own dime. Unless there's ever a change of heart over at Infiniti.

So it looks like in Canada no issue to replace it, in the States you highly depend of your dealers merci.

I had thought of it, but it would be a lot of work. So I left my new one nude.

My replacement grill seems much better than my original.

Hi, I just spoke to my dealer today and they said that the warranty does not cover this type of damage. However, as a "good will" measure, they will replace it for me one time for the life of the warranty. I did not get this in writing so am kind of worried if they change their mind. Did anyone get theirs changed more than once for free under warranty?

Same here Wayne. I've still got my original grille and plan on putting it back on for the winter months to try and keep my warrantied grille looking good.
