alignment issue

A month ago, someone side swiped the driver's side rear bumper, splash guard, fender, and possibly the tire. Anyhow, afterwards, I think I am having alignment issues with the car? How do I know it is alignment issues after the jerk hit and ran? The car was parked in a city street, and that the jerk was trying to parallel and did not now how and basically scrapped the side and could have touched the rim. I am noticing on the highway that when i hold the steering wheel so that the wheels are align with the direction of the car, the car seems to drift towards the left. What are you thoughts guys?

get it check out @ your local (personal) service place, whether it be Costco/Dealership or w/e. Sounds like you got a problem.

Question: When you are braking, does the wheel seem to jerk left or right?

Alignment issues are not the same as braking issues.
A steering wheel that jerks left and right while braking is caused by warped rotors running out of true. The brake pads squeeze against the spinning rotor and shake the car from side to side.
If your steering wheel is shaking, have your brakes checked out.

There's only one way, ...get it on an alignment rack & check.
A periodic alignment is a good thing to do anyway.
I get my cars done when brand new, after it's been on the road for a month or so.
Even a new car coming from the dealer, alignment is usually within spec but never, in my experience has it been *correct*.

^^^^ +1 on getting the alignment checked.

I just had my 07 G35X done and the alignment was out a bit. At the price of tires and good handling I think it is necessary to get it checked once in a while.
