Triple post FTW.

Anyone local to me, I ABSOLUTELY MUST sell a few more G sedans before the end of the month. I will not be beat.

I dont know if it matters but the car was not part of dealer stock. The dealer had to locate it and bring it in. Final negotiated price was 32000. I will be picking the car up tomorrow. Not a horrible deal.

3k below invoice is legit, as long as you don't finance at 0.9%.

I've done deals where we did the 3k incentive, and financed at the REGULAR rate, because it is beneficial to the customer due to large trade equity and/or large down payment, or they're going to be paying off the car in a few months.
Geez.... that (*edit) (could be interpreted as sarcasm, but it was't, so thanks) . Usually your comments are pretty level.

I was backing up the fact that over the phone, none of the dealers were giving a good deal. None of them offered $3k under invoice (or even close to that).

FWIW, my job is selling advertising to auto dealers. I spend all day with GMs and GSMs while they're working deals. They all have said the same thing, they don't give their "best price" over the phone because people just use it to cross shop. Obviously, it's going to be different from dealer to dealer, but the posters experience backs up what I've said.

I think you need to read his message again as I don't think you interpreted it correctly.

My appologies. My intention wasn't to insult. I was trying to say that most of the people who come on here for information only assume that anything I say is untrue because I work for a dealer and only work in the dealer's interest.

I just wanted to point out that you're NOT a dealer, and still say exactly what I say.

First and foremost I'm an enthusiast... I just happen to work at a dealer.

Funny thing these internet forums are. When I read your post, at first it seemed like sarcasm but then realized it wasn't after I read your whole messsage. So, I can see how silverG2007 took it the wrong way.

No problem. My problem is that I read it as sarcasm. Sarcasm is so hard to type. That's a definite downside of the internet.

FWIW, it seems like most people here enjoy your take on things because you work for a dealer. You give us the "inside knowledge" and your posts are always helpful.

So......did you get the car?

Yes, the fact that your dealer had to set up a trade with another store meant a little more work and a little cost for them.

Now, forget about how good a deal you got. Your deal is the best you could do in your area on that day. There will always be someone with "a better deal". Enjoy the car!

I just got back from the dealer today. Had to turn in my '05 G35 Coupe...the lease ran out today.... My wife and I will miss "Dawg"...yes, she had a name.

I regress, I didn't post to cry about losing such a fun member of the family. An observation at the dealership: Despite the fact it was the last day of the month (9/30) there was NO ONE in the dealership aside from the sales folks watching the Sox game. It was pretty sad. I guess the failed bail out really shook some people up...b/c I'm sure these dealers were ready to deal. I spoke with one of the sales guys (really good guy even though I didn't buy my '08 from him...if you are going to buy from Fields in Libertyville (Chicagoland area) I can recommend him, just shoot me a PM) Anyway, he confirmed that the '09 G37 Sedan release has been pushed back b/c there is just waaay too much '08 inventory out there. I think there are going to be some GREAT deals to be had in the near future for what it's worth.

Yes, sales are down, and here in ATL with GAS shortage dealers are bgging for sales. Dealer called me and upped his trade offer on my car $1k 2 days ago and another $1K today!! They were going to stay open late if I would come down. I told them I'll wait and see what October brings, can't wait to see Infiniti offers for October, I'm hoping for .9% for 60 months and maybe $1K-$2K dealer cash then I'm there. Or maybe 0% for 60 monhts, they had 0% for 72 months on an EX!!

Yeah, I would have loved to have been able to wait until October to purchase a car, b/c IMHO the deals are going to just get better on the '08's.

I ended up paying invoice, getting 0.9% for 60mos and getting a $1k owner loyalty rebate...I guess it could get better, but it could have been worse as well. At the end of the day, I love the car. Not as fun to drive as the 6MT coupe, but is the perfect blend of sophistication and performance for the money.

That's a good deal. Way better than what you were looking at originally.

I just got my 2008 Platinum Graphite exterior and Black interior G35xs 5AT September 24th and love it. Had a 2001 Honda Civic before.
It’s the G35X model with Premium Package, Sports Package, and Trunk Cargo net.

I did 0.9% financing for 60 months so it cost me $34,815.10 on an invoice of $35,745. Out the door it was:
$34,815.10 (Car Cost)
$100.00 (Processing Fee)
$2,094.91 (MD Tax 6% on Car and Processing Fee)
$290.00 (tags)
$37,300.01 (Out the door)

If I had paid cash it would have been $34,120.01 out the door.

Hmm, don't see any deals on the Infiniti web site, no .9% or dealer cash. They seemed desperate last night

I called up both of the Infiniti dealers around Seattle and was told that the 0.9%APR -or- $3k rebate incentives they had going in September were continuing through October.
