Is it worth it?

I have a 2007 35x. I love the look of Ingen's dual intake on the 3.5. Would it be worth spending $500 on the intake system if I do not plan on gettin exuast down the road?

AND

Has anyone does the nav bypass and had any problems with it breaking down after? I called to get a price and the guy said he wouldnt do it unless there was a kit because he knew of people "melting" there system becuase of the re-wiring. And im not tryin to "melt" my navi system...haha.

thanks for any help!

1, I would not spend 500 on intake. It just probaly me though.

2, On the navi thing. There is no melting system if you do it right. You only take out 2 wires that's all. From that pont you'll get all the excess.

Don't pay for it. It is not that hard.

yeh, 500 is alot. i imagine it wouldnt be cheaper because it is a dual intake system though. full piping and everything, so it would seem to make sense for it be alot more than a single system..imo

yeh i called to get a price and it was $170 for the bypass...my first question was, is it really that hard? lol. 170...i mean...im not that lost around town...haha

It is about an hour to do it. Not that hard.

1 hour = 170 saving.

Your call. I know I did not pay.

i think the injen dual air intake is worth the price of admission...a lot of people think the deep growl sound coming from the car is from the aftermarket exhaust but i remind them it's the intake making that deep growl...i purchased my injen intake used for $300 shipped and installed it myself...at that price, it was hard to say no...i was also planning on not doin the exhaust but found a price i couldn't refuse...it was really right place at the right time for me...but even if i didn't find that good deal, i would paid $450 for an injen intake...

there's a guy on here who is selling his injen for $400 or so...you should also look at myg37.com...those guys hate injen intakes, plus it looks like crap on their bumpers anyway...

thanks man, preciate all the knowledge. im thinking i will eventually get the intake, might just take me twice as long to save for than a "regular" intake...haha. ill definitely keep an eye open in the marketplace. why do the g37's hate injen? makes me kinda weary.

^^ because the g37 guys were expecting 10whp or more because that's what injen advertised...it did add whp...i think along the lines of 6whp on top of other exhaust mods...but apparently that wasn't enough for the g37 guys, and they want 10+ whp for intake mods...

I love the roar of my fujita intake, but i just took it off ~1 week ago. The sound was nice, it was quiet at reg/low speeds, and growled like a beast at anything over 4k rpm... But i had to bring my car to the dealership, and took it out before i did, and decided not to put it back in.... I'll probably put it in before car shows/car meets, but for everyday, i think the stock intakes do a good job...

yeh i have heard the you will lose power at the low end power with after market intakes and that stock arent really all that bad. i was hoping for a lil more off the line power. if the right price comes along tho, i wont pass it up!

i think the price of the injens is very acceptable after going through a set of fujitas. they are well engineered and definately made some power over stock(instead of loosing-fujitas)

sound amazing and build the powerband nicely over 4k rpms.

the nav thing isnt that hard, it takes around 30 minutes. but the searching for how to do it is hard. good luck.
