Plat Graphite vs. Black

Plat Graphite vs. Black
Tomorrow I am picking out my new G and I cannot decide between the Platinum Graphite and the Black. I really wanted the Slate Blue, but the dealership does not have Blue w/ the options I want (Prem / Nav).
I sat and looked at both PG and B for an hour today and cannot decide.
I love the black. But, I am coming out of a black Acura TL and thought I would go with something different. And, the PG should be easier to keep clean.
Anyone else had to decide between these 2 colors? What to do????

LOL, see my thread from a couple of days ago "Black Sucks". We bought a Obsidian Black G35X a few weeks ago. I gave it a first coat of wax Sunday. Detailing a black car is a PITB. But, the G35 looks great in black with the chrome trim. We were juggling the same two color choices with the same angst but my wife really likes black cars. We were also somewhat like you in that our dealer had a black one loaded with Nav, Premium, Technology, & Wood Trim but didn't have the equivalent in Platinum Graphite.
You can't go wrong with either color. Black & chrome contrast is classic and sophisticated but takes a bit more work. Platinum Graphite is sharp too with a high tech look that also suits the G35 but the lighter color and metalflake will be much easier to maintain. I wish the G35 black had some metalflake in it rather than pure black pigment. C'est la vie.
It's your money! Enjoy!

PG All the way. You just dont know how good the car looks when it is wet, and in sunlight. WOW. This color POPS in light. Hides so much dirt, you cant believe it. And, if you are in a hot climate, it doesnt get nearly as hot in the sun as the black; but with the black interior, it is oppressive nonetheless.
Either way you go, ClearBra is a MUST. Good luck on the choice, keep us posted

I really wanted the Slate Blue as well but they didn't have it in the option packages I wanted. Sharp, sharp color and sort of in between the other two choices.
So to repeat what everyone is saying - if they could make a black color that didn't take so much care and attention almost everyone would choose one. Unfortunatetly that isn't the case. If you aren't much for the car care stuff then just be aware of that and make your decision accordingly.
As far as the Platinum Graphite - that's what I have and my line for explaining it is this: It NEVER looks dirty but looks GREAT when it's clean.
It's a fantastic color with a lot of variation in different light.
I just don't have the time to detail so the PG is great for that. If I did have the time though, man I would love to go OB!
Good luck with your choice and let us know what you decide.
