IMO, the 09 shouldn't have been introduced until Jan or Feb. The combination of overpredicting sales and the changes in the economy has left MANY manufacturers with too much inventory.

You should look into how many Priuses are at the port....

i delivered the first '09 G37xS last week, which I had to beg to get it here ASAP. Preordered clients have nothing to worry about but everyone else can expect to do a made to order type ordeal.

We ordered another 100 G's last month but don't have a problem selling them still. Not everyone is awaiting for the 2009's

If they were going to deliver in Jan or Feb then they shoudl have made the G37 a 2010 model, that woudl have worked better. They coudl have just sold 09 G35 for a few months then call the G37 a 10 and they woudl have been that much better off.

You ordered 100 G35s or 09 G37s?

WOW I just checked 3 loacl dealers here in ATL and one has 44, the other has 64, and the third has 66 2008 G35 sedans. Compared to a local ACura dealer that has 16 2008 TLs and 42 2009 TLs.

Da Mayor, are you saying that if we want an '09 we need to order one? What kind of lead times would we be talking about? I have a feeling I will have to order one to get what I want anyway but would like to know what to expect. Thanks!

That is correct; you need to order the car. Standard lead time is 90-120 days.

My dealership is trying really hard to push the 08's out. They have been going for $8-9k less then sticker, not sure how much that is below invoice though. There is only one dealership for the entire Cincinnati area, the next closest ones are a couple hours away. Right now they have 51 08's and 1 07 sedan listed on their site, oh and 1 09 G37x Coupe- yum.

There are 2 local dealers within 20 miles of each other, they have 50 and 34 2008 G35's respectively. I searched within 100 miles of my zip and there are another 70 spread across 3 other dealerships in addition to the 84 locally. Normally those kind of numbers wouldn't worry the dealers locally (Charlotte is a decent market) but to hear there are still '08's at the port is kinda scarey.

What exactly is "the port" anyway? I picture a boat loaded with Gs but I'm sure that's not the case since they're manufacturing in TN.

The port is where the vehicles are offloaded and stored before shipping to the dealers. Think of it as a distribution center.

BTW, the G35/G37s are built in Japan, not TN.

Infiniti keeps track of what is sold and not sold... which is what other companies have been doing for years.

it depends on what is ordered and what is out there to locate and do trades with.

Where is the port of entry for Infinitis coming from Japan? I know VW/Audi has a large port facility here in Houston. It was KILLING me a couple years ago to know my new VW was only about 15 miles away for like 3 weeks while I waited on it to get through port processing and sent to the dealer.
