How much Fuel is left....
I have had many Nissan's and the rule Ive always heard is that when the low fuel light comes on that means you have 5 gallons left. Even my 05 G35 Coupe was like that.
well on my new G Sedan as the 1st tank goes bye-bye, we were waiting for the light to come on.
so-when it came on a massive warning light said 30 miles to go....That is not 5 gallons and the needle is still above the E line.
Anybody know?

i rarely fill up when it says *** for the gas reading...but i remember doing it when i was that low on fuel, and i remember topping out at 18 gallons on the meter...for the longest time i thought our cars were 18gallons, but i remember members on here telling me it is really a 20 gallon tank...so i'm guessing the reserve is 2 gallons...
^+1 thats exactly what it is. Once you see that you have no miles left you still have 2 gals left to use, i go average of 390-400 and fill er up with about 18-18.3gals. so i could still go another 40 odd miles to empty but thats not recommended as around that point the fuel pump starts picking up the "debris" form the bottom of the fuel tank.
when my light came on in my 03 coupe, it said i had 30 miles left. I know there's at least four gallons and i was driving all highway so i wasnt worried... the light indicator and comes on when you hit E, it does not mean your reserve is empty.
Hmmm, I thought the light came on depending on your driving habit, so if you're driving freeway etc, it leaves less like 2-3 but if you're driving city and racing between the lights it leaves like 5

Well, I live in Lake Tahoe and just recently made the commute down to Orange County to visit family for Thanksgiving and was able to test out the "estimated" range before empty for our cars. From point A to point B, I was able to get 461 miles before having to fill up and average about 25mpg. This was all highway driving with cruise control set for 77mph. There were some areas that I had to slow down when coming to those small towns, but it was brief and I was back on cruise.
The light came on at 420 (haha) and said I had about 41 miles to go before empty. It soon reached 37, 31, 24, 13, and then went to --miles to empty. When I saw the "--" dashes I freaked and got off the freeway to find the nearest gas station. I was still about 15 miles away before arriving to my destination. When I filled up with 461 miles on the trip computer, my total amount of gallons used to fill up my car was at 18.4. If that is the case I still had almost 2 gallons on a 20gal. tank for our G's.
Hope this info helps!
