Dealer took care of TPMS light
Here's a small thing that can make life a little less annoying. I took our G35X to our dealer for it's first scheduled service this morning. Just before Thanksgiving, I had put on a set of Blizzak winter tires with aftermarket wheels. For a month, we've had the TPMS symbol lit up on the dash. Not a big issue. It doesn't flash. But it can be a little distracting to see that orange glow on the periphery of your vision.
Well, the dealer did the scheduled oil change and the tech must have noticed the TPMS light. They somehow shut off the light for me. Programmer? Anyway, I didn't mention it to them. They saw the light and just took care of it. I continue to be impressed by this dealer. And I don't mind paying for excellent service. They will continue get all my service business for the G.
Anyway, I figured if any of you are running winter tires without sensors, and you're headed in for a service appointment, you may want to have a tech shut off the light for you. I assume it will require another visit to turn it back on in the spring.

It'll come back on haha. Once you go over a certain highway speeds for a certain period of time it will come back on. I was excited when i brought mine in and it was gone for 2 days. Then i hopped on the interstate and was cruising and it came back on.
report back after a couple days of driving, i will be really suprised that they disabled it because that technically is a safety issue for wrong tires or inflation or w.e it comes back.
That's interesting. I rarely ever drive more than 20 miles in the winter and I think it's something like 30 miles before the light kicks in and stays on. I'm going to try hooking up my ODBII reader tonight and see if the TPMS code can be cleared like any other code. If not, I assume I'd have to leave the battery unplugged for awhile?

We'll see. I'll check in after a few days. The light stayed off after 30 min of driving after the service at up to 65 mph. My wife took the car this afternoon for another 30 min errand. No light yet.
It'll come back. Mine took two days. The dealer cannot delete this code as it requires a reflash of the pcm with a tuner able to delete codes. A dealer cannot do this due to legal reasons. Just like the dealer or any exhaust shop wouldnt delete a catalytic convertor due to legal reasons. The TPMS is a safety feature. Would u want the dealer to remove the airbags so you could install a tv in the steering wheel? haha.
