depending on how on they tow it, either by tow truck or flatbeading it can still be a problem. Just make sure you inspect the car when you get it back..

Generally, AWDs need a flatbed or you can kiss your drivetrain goodbye. Not sure about the G though... I wouldn't be worried, the tow truck driver should be liable for all damages they caused while towing your car.

Chances are you'll find your car at the NYC Impound, located on Pier 76, West 38th Street and 12th Avenue. My car was towed there once last year after I neglected to pay attention to a sign. There was no damage to the car, but there was - to my wallet (not to mention the pleasures of the pick-up experience at that location)

they dont use flat beds they use the ones that lift your front ..

they arent responsible for anything damaged .. and theres nothing you can do if there is ..
some of those drivers are good at towing . and wont damage anything .. but the other younger guys are all about getting it and going for the next one ..
it happened to me a while a ago .. on a different car .. they cracked my bumper.. and tore the cv joint boot .. they just said were not responsible ..you shouldnt have parked in a tow away zone ..
i tried but couldnt get anything done so i fixed it myself ..

From the way I was parked it looked like the only way they got my car wuz to tow it from the rear of the car. I need to inspect it right now since i got it back, 300 dollars later...There goes my new front grille that I was going to buy

In NYC they usually just use autoloaders for impounds to be quick, plus flatbeds are to big. I'm not sure how the AWD system is on the G's, but i know w/the Audi quattro AWD systems on the A4's and A6's, as long as you have the key off and it is in park, you can wheellift them from the front. I have personally towed several Audi's (40+ miles)w/o any problems. Other vehicle AWD systems are similar, but there are some you just can't like Subaru's.

+1 They never use Flatbed. Better inspect your car. However you can't do anything anyway. There is no way you can claim them. It's your fault..mann..
Be more careful in manhattan.

You get warranty so something goes down just get your dealer to fix it.

Dealer is not going to fix anything under warranty if the car was mistreated.
