Is it me or is my car getting better at 15K miles?

Just coming up on 15k miles and I swear the engine revs quicker and seems to have a wider power curve. I bought the car new a year and a half ago and I am the only driver.
Anyone else experienced this?

Normal for the VQ.
It take a loooong time to fully break in.

This is normal, engines take time to break in. Although I don't have much confidence in the numbers put out by mainstream auto magazines there is one trend that is constant. In the long term tests they measure 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times when they first get the car and then at a later date....sometimes as much as 40k miles into it. Acceleration is almost always (I can't think of a case when it hasn't) quicker after they put a substantial amount of miles on the car.

I just had my VQ replaced about 8k ago and it's really starting to come alive now.

mine seems slower than it did when i bought it (i think it's b/c i'm used to it now), but i had a loaner last week, and it definitely felt quicker than my car.... but for most cars, they get quicker once broken in, but once they hit like over 50k miles they get slower...

Why would they get slower after 50k? Just wondering, what if you cleaned out the engine and gave it a proper tune up?

You need to beat on it a bit, or do an ECU reset.
It's learned your granny driving style.
