Tire valve caps keep being stolen

Couple weeks after the oil change from Infiniti dealer, I give my tires some air and notice that my OEM tire valve is missing. I can't blame the dealer since it has been 2 weeks. I put on the National Street Machine club valve cap. After couple days after the check out at the same dealer, I found out my new valve cap is not there again. I'm pretty upset but since I have 3 more of the same cap, I just let this pass. After a month or so, my cap is missing again. I was like WTF is going on? It is just a chrome valve cap with the NSM club logo on top of it. It is not an expensive valve cap with diamond or something. Man, I am getting sick of this. People who did this are LOW. Now I have my third NSM cap on and hopefully it will not be stolen again.
Question, can I ask Nissan/Infiniti dealer to give me one of the OEM valve cap? I think people will not steal this since it looks crappy. LOL

Yah, they're like around $50-60 for the set.

If you can not do anything at least have some fun. Dip them in some hot pepper juice or something. So hopefully he will touch the thing and maybe scratch his eyes. LOL

I had a couple of my NitroFill caps (the ones that came with the car) stolen several months ago. I found a new replacement set on eBay for $6.00. So at least I have a couple extra if someone steals more caps.

It's probably a few punk kids who want the caps for their bikes. I remember doing it when I was a young punk kid without a license. Karma ha.

I'm not sure if the valve stems are brass or aluminum on the G's but be very careful with these cheap chrome caps. I put these on my Titan and found out a year later what we learned in chemistry class is true, two different metals will react when they are in contact with each other. They corroded together and I ended up breaking one stem and pretty much ruining another getting them off. So the $30 or whatever the new covers would have cost was a bargain compared to the $75/each TPMS sensor. So if the stems are aluminum (which I'm pretty sure all Nissan TPMS are) get a good set and eat the cost or just buy the cheap plastic one and don't worry about anyone taking them.

I only hope I can save one person the aggravation I went though...it sucks when you bust a stem and the air just pours out of the tire and there is nothing you can do but get the spare.

Thanks SPete for sharing your experience. I know this corrosion theory but I never thought it would happen with chrome since chrome is immunized with corrosion. Anyway, I will put a layer or two of plastic food wrap on the valve then screw the cap on. In this way, I can save money in my pocket and have the chrome look I want

nah, forget the plastic wrap. If you're that concerned about it, just rub a little silicone on each stem.

Well the problem I had was the cheap ones were not chrome on the inside, they were like tin or some cheaper metal. I'm sure if you coated the stem with a lubricant and reapplied regularly this would help, just make sure you're checking them every month or so. Plus where I live they put salt on the streets in the winter so I'm sure this also adds to the problem.

I had my nitrogen green caps stolen a while back so I purchased the tire valve locks with the infiniti logo on them. When you turn them they just spin and you need a key to undo them or pliers.
