Someone touched on this relatively quickly. The tread rating is 140. I don't think from my research the tires are softer than any other but the tread on factory tire is actually shorter than non-OEM tire. I believe the same model of tires from a tire dealer are something like a 220 tread rating. I may be wrong but have been told some factory tire are cut shorter or molded shorter so Nissan can buy them more cheaply.
Just an FYI.
Just an FYI.

Kid4Now - Definitely it's a Sport. There is no secret, except that I used to track my cars 3-4 weekends a year, maybe I drive smoothly, but I actually did read a post from someone who got 40k and called it a world record.
EWG35 & snowcross - no, The RE050A has treadwear 140, there may be a runflat with a different number, but who cares? the only RE050 in Sport OE sizes has treadwear 140

two words = TIRE INSURANCE
I paid 500 bucks at the dealer when I leased my car and all tires and rims are covered for the full 3 yr/45k of the lease. Well worth it IMHO, and I Read the fine print and it says the tires are even covered if they need to be replaced due to routine wear. Just a little FYI, my friend has a similar plan on his 335i with sport and he has gotten 3 new rims and about 6 or 7 tires and it has cost him just the 500 bucks he paid when he leased his car.
