How do you deal with door scratches

Today I came out to my car to discover some person had scraped their passenger door against my drivers side door leaving a paint scratch. I have the touch up paint from Infiniti and I am planning to use it on this scratch, but I was wondering how others deal with it.

Thanks

you would be suprised what will come out.

i park as far away as possible from other cars to minimize these kinds of issues.

I use Meguiar's Scratch X to remove any light scratches.
I hear you though.. I am so **** and paranoid about parking next to anybody, but door dings and such are just inevitable. Sooner or later you gonna get some.. I just try my best to avoid parking next to anyone or avoid any tight spaces when parking. Sometimes, my passagers think I am crazy, but you gotta do what you gotta do to avoid these things. In addition, our G's probably have the weakest paint on earth. My old 01 Honda had a better paint than my current G. Sadly, I am not even exaggerating.

I wonder how effective the new self-healing paint is on the new 09 G's. Anyone w/ experience care to share?

I usually just ignore them...

But every now and then, I'll take some time to try to buff them out using some what abrasive compounds or just cough up the money to have a bodyshop take care of them for me.

I avoid them by parking out in the middle of nowhere. That is, of course, when I drive my G. I traded my Honda Ridgeline for my G, then bought a small, used truck for those rare occasions I need to haul something. My plan was the drive the G except in bad weather or when I needed a truck. So far, the G stays parked and functions mostly as a conversation piece while I put daily wear and tear on the truck.

+1 on the Meguiars Scratch-X 2.0, it does wonders, especially if you don't have a buffer. If you have a dent then that is another story.

If it's dented inward from the scratch, then you'd have to try to tap it out just a bit, sand, bondo, sand, sand some more, and then paint.

If it's just a ding without a scratch, then there are other ways to repair it without repainting.

F*$%# G*D D&$%#Nt...
That pretty much summed it up, I bought my G used the previous owner took great care and obviously had a garage.

I have had the G just over two months and both my bumpers are scratched to SH&$% and I have accumulated four door dings...

So I have learned to brush it off to the best of my abilities!
Sad but True

Why can't people just respect other peoples cars...I mean if I see that my car door might hit another car I do everything I can to avoid that, especially if its a nice car. Sometimes people really make me mad!DOMO

GEESPEED: Only sometimes people make you mad? LOL. You should live in NY. One time, some years ago, I parked "near" a residential house's driveway - not blocking the driveway by any means - Queens County, NY. Went to a local restaurant in the neighborhood, when I returned, the wiper blades were bent in half and ruined........Had to be the owner of the house who probably didn't like the fact that I parked too close to the driveway curb cut. Never saw it happen. I am pissed off all over again....

Dent Doctor (or similar) can take out dents without bondo or repaint as long as they are accessable from behind and not near any corners or reenforced metal. The one here said that most dents cost about $50-$75. Then you can just use touch up paint. Depends how picky you are about the final look. For me that would be fine. The alternative is traditional body work which would repaint the entire door at a minimum but many pros prefer to do a paint match blend on the adjacent body panels...$$$
