Hit a curb....

Hit a curb....
I lost control of my car and hit a curb this weekend. It was so stupid thing to do. I turned the VDC off and accelerated hard. Then the car went terribly out of control, did a 360 and hit a curb at an angle.
Most of the impact with the curb was taken by the rear driver’s side wheel. It is broken and I also think the axle was damaged.
Honestly I never did drive like this before. Was just curious what will happen if I turned the VDC off.
Now I am worried that I may have problems with the ride quality after I get it fixed. Did any one have similar damages to your car? Any help appreciated.
Thank you.

Dude, sorry to say, but this is a complete and utter failure on your part. Test the capabilities of your vehicle in a somewhat controlled space. If you had tried this in a big empty industrial parking lot you would have had a great time with that 360, maybe done more than one.
I'm sure you are feeling the pain, so I do feel bad. I hope it fixes up OK. I think if you have an experienced mechanic assess it he should be able to put it all back straight.
Sorry for the harsh words; hope it all works out.

Ouch man. I did the same thing once coming around a corner that was wet from the sprinklers. The whole rear end kicked out....i countersteered and was able to save the side of the car and wound up sliding into the curb and hitting the front passenger side bumper at the bottom. Scuffed it up pretty nicely but thank god i didnt hit the front wheel. Needless to say i will never do that again haha

Sorry to see this. Hey we all do stupid stuff once in a while . Hindsight is 20/20. I would look on eBay or here for a rim or may look for a whole new set with tires. There a lot of possibilities there for the price you would pay for one new rim. From your picture it sure does look like you bent something but pictures can be diseveing (sp) sometimes. Once you replace the rim and axle if needed your ride quality should be fine.
Look at the bright side. I would rather damage my rim and axle then screw up my sheet metal and paint. Thats my opinion at least.
Good luck
Brad
