Rain-X Latitude wipers are making rubber scraping sound

It's probably because i didn't install it correctly, but it scrapes against the windshield. Does anybody have the same problem if you used Rain-X Latitude instead of the Infiniti wipers which are worthless? What could be the reason?

Yeah I was just thinking about making the switch over to the Rain-X wipers.

Man that sucks that they make that annoying sound.

I still love my OEM wipers

I've been driving my G for 2.5 years now and I'm only on my second pair of wipers. (I replaced the ones that car with the car once so far with the same OEM inserts)

I guess the secret is keeping them clean and not letting them wipe dry when they are dirty. Being garaged both at home and at work and staying out of the sun helps, but I've had no issues and had no reason to leave OEM.

I clean mine while I'm washing the car, using my mitt and soapy water.
Some use vinegar and water solutions, but I'm not that **** with my blades and they still last me just fine.

Just be sure not to get any wax or rubber dressing products on them.

I also found this...

I wipe mine periodically with those little alcohol wipes that you use when you cut yourself. Seems to keep them working just fine. I just installed a pair of Michelin blades...they work nice, now to see how long they last. Plus...they match my tires.

I have to agree, the OEM wipers are great in my opinion. I had used Rain-X on my old ride and couldn't stand the noise of them plus I don't think they faired too well when the new england winter came around. I haven't owned the G for a winter's season yet so I can't comment on that but so far I like the OEM wipers.

what's wrong w/ the OEM wipers? they're really affordable.... and they heavy and not very prone to warping.

OEM wipers did not do a good job clearing out snow streaks during winter. I am glad that it worked for some of you, but it didn't for me. So i bought Rain-X and it has been working much better clearing snow and rain. But the scraping is annoying. I've just cleaned it so let's see what will happen.

Yeah, winter beats the hell out of wiper blades. I usually replace them once a year in the spring, but I don't need to this year. They seem to still be in pretty good shape.

After putting the Rain-X windshield treatment on, the wiper is not making any more scraping sound. The treatment also made a big difference in terms of visibility. I had treated only the driver side and the heavy rain tonight was just flying off windshield, but the untreated passenger side was smeared with rain.

The NAPA wipers always worked good for me on my old car, and they're pretty cheap.

IMHO OEM wipers are worthless. I bought my G in the spring of 2008, within 3 days I had to call the salesman and tell him that these wipers were "bouncing" across the windshield. They replaced the blades, about 6 weeks later the same thing happened. I called the service department and they would not replace them again. So much for customer service.

I bought Bosch blades so far so good.
