RPM Gauge Not Working - Please Advise

I have a '07 g35x and for the past few summers I have noticed that my rpm gauge acts up occasionally, especially when it is hot. Sometimes it will redline when I am going 20-30 mph and sometimes it won't go past 0. I have had the instrument cluster replaced, yet this continues to happen - and I think the local Infiniti dealership is equally as confused.

Has anyone had this issue or know what I can do to fix it?

I read another post, but that was purely the rpm going to 0.

Thanks!

I noticed the same thing today. My tach was off by about 1K rpm above normal and thought that my clutch was slipping but it is the same mis-operating tach, I have seen the same condition on a chap's car on youtube, all at above normal ambient conditions. If anyone has the bottom line culprit of this, please share.........

Thanks
