15K service. Yeah or Nah
15K service. Yeah or Nah
Dealer quoted me 398 for a 15K service on my 07 G35S. I can change the cabin and air filters myself; As well as topping off windshield washer fluid and anti freeze. You guys think it's wise to drop the 398 or just have them do an oil change and do the things I sited myself?
OMG! The 15k service consists of almost nothing.
You are basically getting a visual inspection and topping off of various fluids which you don't really need @ 15k. IMO just get an oil change and maybe replace the cabin filter if you desire. You don't really need to replace ur air filters til like 30k.
Don't let them stealerships get U!

15k should be:
oil change
air filter
cabin filter
rotate tires (balance extra)
wiper inserts
adjust tire pressures
top off washer fluid
rotating tires yourself is a PITA, and you will have no way to balance them. with your sport model, we go side to side if the tires allow. other stuff is pretty easy.

Just looked at the air filters for my 07 G35S (19k). They need replacement now, they are full of oil and getting pretty gross. If I were to wait until 30k they would be fully clogged.
My advice is to do a visual inspection and then have them do it if the cost is not over the top.
My wife's E350 was due for a similar service they wanted $500 including the oil change, I had them change the oil, period ($120). But I better check those air filters (should take my own advice).

hmm shop around... can probably get it done for cheaper....
but umm if i remember correctly they don't really do very much for a 15k.. more or less oil change, top off and inspection. the 30k is worth doing tho... there's a lot of things that should to be changed out.
but it's really up to you. You should be able to get the service done for 300-350... if not cheaper. you can even try a nissan dealership.

Shop around? Are you kidding?
RTFM stands for Read The (Friendly) Manual, as in know first-hand what is required. What good is getting a bunch of quotes if you don't know what you're buying? Geronimomoe had it right, after you read the manual, do it yourself.
