i did some reading on this. appears to be a nice drivers aid for those who might not otherwise have the experience/skills (talent/luck/etc) to get out of danger in a quick emergency maneuver (eg abrupt lane change). there's a youtube vid that demonstrates the system on a v36 skyline well. appears to be a bad option if you are in any way going to track your car - at those limits, i have read it is a hindrance, can be unpredictable, and not natural in end feel.
there's always the added cost/complexity/maintenance/weight issue, but those interested in this feature might not be that concerned about that. personally, i would pass on it. but if you have a car seat in the back and not an SCCA approved helmet, well maybe you might want it...
