Auto Interior Illumination Stopped Working

Hi guys,

I had my g37 sedan tinted yesterday and I just realized it today that my car interior doesn't illuminate anymore when I unlock the door or stop the engine.

I checked the setting and turned it off/on but it didn't fix it.

The guy said he removed the door seals to prevent feeling but that's about it.

I'm not sure if it's coincidence or there's something else that I did.

thanks

Is the brightness turned all the way down?

What does "he removed the door seals to prevent feeling" mean?

Anyway, did the little push pin that tells the car when the door is open or closed get stuck? That's what controls illumination. OR, if you're talking about the main "dome" lights, think there's a switch to set those to On - Door - Off. Is it switched off?

Thanks for the reply guys.

Rear personal light, Map light and step lamp are always on / off depending of the interior light switch settings (on/off/door) and they always work.

I'm talking about the buttons / gauge / instrument lights.

You know when headlight is set to auto and you're exiting the car at night,
steering wheel buttons, all buttons on the panel are lit up.

I remember when I entered the car, soon after I pressed the button on the door, they are lit up as well.
Am I right? or was it a different car (I can't remember)? I only picked up the car few days ago so

Instrument Brightness is already set to MAX btw.

Do you have the Instrument Brightness set to Max but there is nothing showing on the gauge. Does it matter if you have the headlights on or off? If they don't go on either way that would lead me to believe that there is something wrong.

With mine the gauges are on day or night they just vary depending on that.

no no no, everything works fine when the car is running.

It's only when I enter the car, should they light up?

No, instrument panel does not light up when you just enter the car. It comes on when you switch to On (or possibly Aux - LCD comes on, don't think gauges come on).

I second that, if your light come on when you turn on the car you are all set. The do not go on when you open the door. It looks like there is no worries now.

The interior lights should come on (Map/Dome) and your Ignition button should light up.
Your dash cluster only comes on once the car is started, or the ignition switch is pushed to turn the ignition on to Aux/On.... just like Steve mentioned above

Wait until he sees that only the lock side of his lock button lights up and not the Unlock side.
I thought mine was broken for months

Really... who ever heard of a half-lit button?

I've thought about that - the only thing I can figure is if in an emergency you're looking for the lock button to keep out some carjacker, it only shows you that one. If you have to get OUT...
