I'm going to try and make a DIY that shows how to install the boot and retain the oem silver ring that attaches to the boot and ****, I'll hopefully have it posted up sometime this weekend

Looks great... nice job.

Nothing in a softer/flatter black, huh?

I have matte black leather but it has wrinkles in the pattern of the hide unfortunately I don't carry any super smooth matte leather yet.... i'll be checking later today with my supplier!

Awesome...
I'm also interested in the DIY. Removal of interior parts is something I hesitate on as it can be the start of unwanted creaks, rattles and every other kind of noise.
I'm curious as to just how the center console comes out, so I'm watching for that as well.

If/when I do this, I'm doing a full boot and getting rid of the auto look.

I would love to see a DIY for the boot install as well. Lock you don't happen to have any photos of your boots in a black suede do you?

Scott all you do to remove the shifter panel is first remove the ****. Then grab the panel from the boot (on the inside) and life up.

I should of mentioned there isn't much room to work. I ended up having to put it in D then take off the panel and then put it back into park. You will know what I am talking about when you give it a shot.. very easy though.

Yeah make sure you put it into D cuz it won't come off if you leave it in P theres no room to pull it out.

Hey Greekboy115 have you ever tried to remove the actual RECTANGLE shift plate off of the aluminum center console? looks like its snapped in and theres a bunch of screws around it that I've removed but it still won't come off any ideas? Don't wanna break the thing lol.

I have no idea how to remove that rectangle plate.. however I haven't tried. I can take a look when I get a chance but I don't want to mess with it too much.

I hear ya man, I'll take a look at it again also and if I figure it out I'll definitely start making boots that will cover the whole shift plate otherwise if I can't remove it I can't really make a boot

I thought the whole center console had to come out so the plate could be removed from underneath.
This was the cause of my hesitation. It seems so intrusive.

You can remove the center console to get access to the bottom of the shift plate but its like its "clipped" in or "snapped" in with plastic parts and I don't know if the plate was designed to be removed or if its glued in even though I see that its snapped in on a few different areas on the back of the console.

I could remove the plastic piece underneath that holds the boot onto the shift plate but the shift plate itself stays connected to the center console piece. I'll take a closer look tomorrow hopefully

I got a chance to take a look at the shifter panel today. I diddn't see any easy way to remove the plate. I did not want to do any pulling or tugging however just in case if it goes snap instead of coming off. I am sure that it can come off I am just not willing to break anything, especially considering I will most likely just go with an OEM replacement boot.

Sounds good man I felt the same way but I'm gonna try it again tomorrow so we'll see how it goes
