Checks this thread out, it has the pics for the V36 covering the whole shifter plate. Going to place my order today. Still waiting on a DIY though.

Thats the DIY to remove the center console then from there under the console there are a bunch of screws just remove those and the shift plate is basically just snapped into the console. There are 2 plastic tabs that I've indicated on ONE of the pictures with YELLOW STARS that show where the tabs are that you have to slightly move to allow the shift plate to come out.

Gotcha, looks simple enough (famous last words). Last question. Does the boot "hook" onto something to stay in place or do does it just stay in place after the shifter trim is reattached onto the console?

After you put the shifter trim back onto the console all it does it kind of "snap" back in place but because of the extra new material that is around the shifter trim is doesn't snap back in as easily as you'd like but it does hold it back in place. I didn't even put back in any of the screws because its not necessary now that the shift plate is covered up.

Ever though of making something that would make the stupid cup holder actually hold cups? My spring thing broke and now it's useless for holding cups/bottles.

The one directly behind the shift on the 5at - it has a lid that fits down over it. I'll grab pics when I'm out of work.

Here is a pic of the install covering the whole shift plate. I also utilized the silver ring. Install is very easy, took me about 30 minutes. Great product, better customer service. Thanks Locksmith!
