Non sport bumper mesh, anyone change it before?

Recently i realized that our non sport bumpers have mesh with no holes in it? No air flow? like why..

was wondering if anyone decided to change the mesh. think im about to, but was wondering if there were custom fit ones designed already? (just the bottom left and bottom right of the bumper, not mid/grill)

I had the same feeling as you, the stock plastic waffle mesh looks terrible IMO.

After my research regarding precut/prefit pieces, all I found was some cheesy looking billet ones off ebay (the billet kind with horizontal lines only).

Some guy started some kind of fog light mod in these grills, but he pretty much quit and that was the end of that.

So...good luck man, there's a business opportunity for you, come up with a solution.

I think adding holes in that location will cause wind noise at higher speeds.. just a thought

i dont mind the wind noise so much. i think it'll give me an agressive look, and i'll get more cold air for my intake (dunno if it'll do much honestly).

i just hate that POS plastic there.. it does absolutely nothing, and looks horribad

alright guess i'll start on the project. im gunna be painting my trays and engine cover first.. then i'll start on the mesh. i'll keep you guys posted =P

-edit

is the mesh just clipped on? i refuse to take off my bumper just for this crap. if the mesh is clipped on, i suppose i can just take a flathead, pry it out, drill the holes, repaint it, then replace

-edit2

the mesh is like part of the bumper. this is so fail.

Yeap it is part of the bumper. They are actually too low for the oem intake. The air would just go under the body. aybe it would screw up the aero at higher speed(lifting the front).

I sort of like them without holes so we can put holes in them. I have been thinking of corner lights in the form of leds. Fairly easy to take the head off of high powered LED flashlight and put them in this area for lighting up the side of the road.

something like this??

the plastic mesh is so much of a hassle, might as well buy an aftermarket bumper or whatever. i thought it was a simple task.. apparently not =(

unless theres some other easy ways to go about changing the mesh
