Make sure the bulb is facing the rear of the car, like sedans. (coupes suck, the face up)
and man this thread is old.

I need the above lead, also since i got my hid kit my lights only worked for 1-2months.
then no lights even with stock lights .. checked all fuses, all fine, all other lights work on taillights. I even replaced the trans reverse switch and still no go.. u got any ideas?

I had them in my sedan for awhile and took them out.
They were bright, but the halogen bulbs are just brighter. I couldn't see much out my tinted windows. They did look awesome though.
LEDs are designed for direct projection, and not reflector lens projection. Look at any modern taillight using LEDs and you'll see they are designed to display outwards and use multiple LEDs while one single halogen bulbs in a reflector is just as effective.
I just don't think you can jam enough LEDs in the reflector reverse lit location to make it as bright or brighter as OEM.
They look awesome though, so some of you city guys will never notice thediffrence due to stret lights everywhere

i got 5w Cree leds from ebay and they are very bright and actually light up behind the car much better than the stocks no questions asked. With stock bulbs i had no light at all almost using the back up camera when backing out of my almsot pitch dark drive way. with these uni directional cree leds its lights up quite nicely if you use the back up camera
