B-Quiet-ed my G35S

Ok...I've loved my G so far...great value, great performance, good dampening, etc...but i've never been quite happy with the rattles and buzzes. It's been in several times for various rattles...and of course most were fixed for a short period.

A combination of 19's and a wierd entrance and exit angle to my garage basically twists the car every in and out. It has helped exacerbate the buzzes, etc.

So I decided to just fix it myself.

Bought two rolls of B-Quiet (used Dynamat throught out my Jeep SRT8, but wasn't happy with the results and very expensive.) B-Quiet was only 166.00 delivered, and i only used 3/4 of one roll for entire trunk, doors, under rear seat, and under front floor boards. Rest wil go in headliner area.

I'm super happy with the results...the car just feels more solid. So far, the only buzz/rattle i have left is the one by the front of the sunroof...but dealer is replacing the headliner for that one.

I like the new thunk of the doors when closing, and the Bose actually sounds much more powerful and rich.

Total install time was 2.5 hours - I'm used to working with interiors.

I would say anyone unhappy with the sound inside the car...the best fix for the smallest dollar.

My next mod is chassis stiffness...GTSpec mid-chassis brace and strut brace.

Thought i'd share.

Happy Holidays!

I'm so jealous! I've been dying to do this to my car as well. My dad has a 1991 Rolls Royce Silver Spur II and the damn thing, 18 years old still doesn't make a single sound on the interior, meanwhile my 2-year old G35 has TONS of little noises. Obviously not saying my G35 should be better than the RR, but come on, 16 years difference oughta account for something!

Wow, good info PS8! Thanks for sharing. So would you buy just one roll if you had to do it over again? Looking at their website they have two products ultimate and extreme, which would you recommend? I might do what you did as well as some deadener to the wheel wells. I saw a thread where a guy did some stuff to the wells and tool out a lot of road noise. TIA!

I used a lot of this in my '04, when I did my sound system.
It really made a huge difference in that car.
The only downside to it is the added weight.

listing has it at about 1/3 lb. per square foot. So a whole roll (50 sq ft.) is less than 20 lbs. That sounds worth it If we are looking at a whole roll or less for a car.

Nice, I've been hearing a few squeaks lately. But I attribute that down to three things the JIC coilovers have made everything stiffer, the ARBs have also stiffened the car and I'm playing music louder now a days.

My noises are mainly coming from the boot and the rear seats so I might do this someday, thanks for the little review

i would love to do this as well but have no experience with pulling out interiors, how much do you think an audio shop would charge if i supplied the roll?

The interior is REALLY easy...just a few inexpesive tools necessary...and then go through the DIY here on the site.

This mod is and will be the first one (after rims, tint, etc, heh heh) I do on any car in the future. The car now sounds/feels as solid as it should. And I'm in love with my G again.

I have an extra roll if someone wants to buy if off me for cost plus shipping.
