Arrgghh - it happened again! Dallas - Ft Worth got 11 inches of snow yesterday. Again, I was at work until 10pm. Rather than drive my g35 through all that snow, I walked across the street to a nearby hotel and got a room for the night.

At least it only snows like that in Dallas once every 30 years or so. Snow is common occurrence in Midwest. We just got 10.5 the other day. I love rollin on my Blizzacks... in the winter anyway.

Of course they weren't. They're called "summer tires" for a reason. The compound in them freezes when it gets too cold outside and is like literally driving on hockey pucks.

If you're area gets snow often, it's a good idea to have a set of winter tires for the winter and summer tires for the warmer months. Summer tires excel on dry pavement and also the rain and winter tires are great for the snow. All-seasons perform average in all conditions.

+1 on the snow tires. Putting some WEIGHT in the trunk and keeping the gas tank full drastically helps the G in snow.

I have not seen any G35 reviews on snow cables, but I am intrigued to see how THESE might help in the snow. They are only $80, and might be a great back-up to keep in the trunk for people who rarely get snow.

I was driving my G through the NY snow which was roughly 6-8 inches or so. Surprisingly it was pretty good. The only thing i was afraid of was the fact that i had a lip on in the front which i did end up scratching =( I have the Dunlop Graspic D-3. The car does tend to slide at times when coming into a turn or giving gas moderately. Driving on highways i was passing Jeeps which was a blast. VDC off + gas = whole lot of fun!

Agree w/ IgorNYC, we got rocked with snow last week.

The G is a tank in the snow. I got caught in the unexpected snow yesterday, put the "snow" mode on & the G handled the snow plus the numerous black ice spots like a champ. I was surprised because my tires are run down to the nub, ordering Michelin's in about two weeks. So far so good this wintery season.

Just realized that the stock OEM Potenzas are Summer tires after a nice drive in ice!

I kept it under control but I do need to put on my new tires ASAP...
