Smoked or Black Chrome Emblems
I've always wanted to do it, but I haven't seen them yet despite hearing it thrown around a lot.
Has anyone done their own or had it professionally done. I think it would look really good on a lighter colored car having either black chrome or a smoked, grayish tint to the emblems on the back of the car.
I know some 1st gens have done it - bit I'm interested to see it on a 2nd gen. I'm considering that plus removing the INFINITI and dropping the Mt. Fuji to the center of the trunk

Do you know what methods they used?
Duplicolor has their metal cast paint, but IDK how good that would turn out.
Here's a DIY vid.

Maybe Wes can chime in on how he did it and how hard it was.
I'm most worried about having to put it back on.
A. If you're using the original emblems, they have some glue left and some not - how do you reattach those - I guess you could buy new emblems to paint
B. How the heck do you line it up straight

I did it once already when I lowered it on the trunk.
I put tape on, just outside the bonding area & then drew horizontal & vertical lines on the tape.
It was very easy to line it up that way.
& it just sticks on with 3M d.sided tape (HomeDepot)
Clean off the old stuff & put on some new tape.

I think it depends from the color of the car and if you have the midnight grill might not look as good. But on any lighter color would look really sick.
