Age old question? WeatherTech vs. Stock Rubber Mats

I saw a couple posts stating WeatherTech are better. I haven't seen those, but I looked at the Infiniti ones at the dealer and they are nice and durable feeling. Also have "Infiniti" on them and cost less ($130 vs. $83 for stock). Thoughts?

I don't live in snow territory, I just hate how my second set of Ininiti carpet floor mats look like crap at 20,000 miles.

The main difference between the two mats are that WT's Floorliner have more holding capacity and generally covers a bigger area because of their approach to fitment.

I have the OEM rubber mats, had them for 2 yrs now and it has shown no signs of irregular wear (even on the heel section by the accelerator). The carpet underneath is is as clean as the day i bought the car. As nice as carpeted mats look, i don't think i'll ever own one again.

^+1 mike has summed it up nicely! but if you dont have too much snow in your area i would go with oem rubber as they look better and are very durable as well.

Go with the weather tech liners. You won't regret it.

I like the weathertech since they're like a bowl and catch all of the dirt -- except a little dirt which spills over on the carpet near the gas pedal. You can take them out and spray them off, might want to take a soapy rag to them every 1-2 months. You can go 2+ months without vacuuming the carpet.

My only gripe is that the driver's mat warps a little bit and doesn't fit flush -- but it's still far superior than standard mats.

I've got weathertech on my car, had them on for the past year or so and I love them. Extremely easy to clean and the digital fit ones fit perfectly and hold the sides so no dirt drifts off

Have stock rubber mats and they do the job fine in the winter. Cleaning them is a bit of a PITA but I hadn't had to do that very often. I switch over to the stock carpet mats in the late spring.

"Better" is always at odd ends with "good enough"

Soundmike: Now that you are driving with the Rubber Weather Mats, do you feel any slippage of heel to Toe driving to and from the brake pedal? You know what I mean? My carpeted mat on the driver's side is a mess now, worn, & dirty. I'm debating aboyt replacing with the All Weather Mats particularly, if I buy my car at lease end.

Soundmike: Do they "button" down like the carpeted maps do in the front?

almatti: I've never had issues with slippage - road, track or otherwise. Yes, it's buttoned-down, so to speak. Attached are a couple of photos to show what 40k miles of wear does to the mats (very little). Please forgive the mess, the weather's been terrible around here lately.

If there's any downside, it's that it is wearing the heel of my shoe rather fast.

I have the stock weather mats and think they are great. I ended up getting stone since I have gray interior. I wish I got black. Other than that I love them and I am in Florida!
