clutch slave!!!

so my slave went out again..... the delership seems to think that its because teh jwt clutch and flywheel are after market it is puts more strain on the throw out bearing and its causing the seals to burst. They said to look into it and see if i can find any recomendations soooo....do you guys have any recomendations?

^ Well i doubt that the JWT can do that. The oem clutch system(master, slave cylinder etc) all are very sturdy and countless people have swapped out their OEMs with JWT over the years and have had no such issues. People with TT on their G37's have JWT and stock slave cylinder and have no problems, So the JWT cant be the reason....

Seems to me that they either did the install wrong the first time around(either the cltuch or the slave cylinder), or they put in the defected part(remember there was a recall because the slave cylinder batch was bad) or the clutch has been "burned/Ridden" A LOT!

They are obviously trying to blame it on the Aftermarket part so the warranty does not have to cover it. However do keep us posted, i will be VERY surprised if they can prove to you that JWT caused it if they try to cheat you out of the warranty.

I highly doubt that JWT would design their OE clutch replacement to exceed the pressure thresholds of the OE slave.

That said....
Depending on what model you install, if the aftermarket clutch plate springs are stiffer than OE;
then yes they will create more load for the slave.
The question is; Is it still within slave design parameters.

For peace of mind, I would contact JWT to see if they can tell you more.

well they changed it under warrenty this time, clutch hasnt been ridden or burned cuz they checked that and said the clutch seems almost new. I honestly think it was an installation error but im not sure.

Also did this clutch need to be aligned properly? cause infinity installed the aftermarket clutch for me so what do you guys think? mayb its not balanced properly thats why its breaking?

EDIT: i honestly dont know much about the clutch at this point cause i have no idea whats happening and why it broke in the first place so im just trying to cover all my bases b4 it breaks again

As for alignment all it takes is to stick in the supplied alignment tool into the tranny to center the clutch to all the shaft to go through it easily, so if the cltuch was not aligned right i doubt that they could have sealed it up and even if that was the case you would have felt the difference without a doubt. My bet is that they installed a slave cylinder from a bad batch which was pre-recall when you went for the tsb.

Did they use the same JWT clutch plate & flywheel on the reinstall or a new one?

^ well if thats what they said and the car is driving fine now then i doubt that they would foot a bill for a new clutch and not tell you about it. In this case i will stick with my original belief that the dealership faulted the first time around with the install of the recalled slave cylinder.

But the car is driving fine now, right? Keep us posted over the next few weeks if possible, hope everything goes back to normal and stays that way.

^ were these all 4 events due to the slave cylinder? if so then something more serious might be the problem, not sure of what much i can say as i cant see your car in person, i just hope it all works out for you....
