Finally bought the G35--no more lease!!

Well, after shopping through 4 dealers down here in South FL, I finally found one that was not adding a $800 dealer fee for me to buy out the lease on my 08 G35. I just paid the payoff+$150 fee (in contract)+taxes and small registration fees.

So many dealers tried to add outrageous fees on top of what the contract states. One said it would waive the fee if I had leased the car from them originally. The dealer I leased from shut down so I had no way to go back to them.

For people in the area, the dealer was Warren Henry on 441. They will get my business in the future...

Kinda wish I hadn't beat the car so much during the lease period...didn't realize I'd fall in love with it!

Congrats! That's a lot of coin for doing nothing special!

I agree about our cars...the 2nd gen is so good, I'll probably keep it 10+ years. Mine is almost 3 years old and feels close to new!

It's great you finally found a helpful dealer.
I feel the same about mine, still love it and can't see myself driving anything else for 5-6 years.

I am probably going to buy mine out from a lease as well. My one big question is why do you guys go to the dealer to buy the lease??? I was thinking about buying my last Legacy lease (turns out I didn't). All I did was talk to the leasing company and they said to send them the check and they would release the title. Why did you go the dealer for the Infiniti? I bring this up because my dealer is 2 hours away.

^ Good question. When I bought out a Mazda I had 6 years ago I dealt with the leasing company (Mazda Finance...). I just mailed them a check and they returned the ownership, fully in my name, and some other papers.

Trust me--I did NOT want to go to the dealer, but no matter how nicely I insisted, Infiniti Finance told me I had to go to the local dealer to buyout the lease. They would not even accept me going to a Nissan dealer!
