Body shop says it will take 3 weeks to fix and they guarantee the repair for lifetime of the vehicle.

Any suggestions on what to check for when I get it back (besides paint, body lines, no vibrations, etc...)??

I'll have to treat her to a claybar/zaino job when she comes back.

I know it would be better if it were just a total loss, but after protecting my wife and 2 kids I intend to keep it around for a while.
ouch you beat me i'm at 10k!!! with damage to both quarter panels, front bumper and rear door all being replaced

Well, since you asked.
I would check the paint in several different lighting conditions. What may look like a perfect match in one light may look way off in another. Also, I would take it home and strip any wax/glaze the body shop may have put on... meaning, wash it with Dawn/Palmolive and then check in again.
Body shops are famous for hiding slight imperfections behind heavy waxes and sealants (even if it's unintentional). 3-4 months later, you're wondering where all the swirls and buffer holograms came from. I may sound paranoid, but I speak from experience.

Also, I wouldn't clay bar a brand new clear coat. Feel free to bar the rest of the car, but leave the newly painted sections alone. I'd let that cure for a good few weeks before I did anything to it.

Wash it, check for imperfections, and then throw a quick coat of wax on to protect it for the next month or so. Then, go crazy.

Here's an example... The swirl you see on my rear pillar is a buffer hologram, caused by a hack using a dirty pad while prepping my car for delivery. (I told them not to prep the car three months earlier when I ordered it)
The swirl was completely invisible until I stripped it clean. Then it was more than visible...

Yeah... those fvckers!

I know accidents happen but I
a) told them not to prep the car and
b) after not following directions, they scratched the car and
c) while trying to hide their mistake, made matters 10x worse.

Needless to say, I was unhappy.

I ended up correcting it myself and I got a free set of OEM Winter Mats out of the deal. They even drove them right to my front door, 90 minutes away. LOL
