Do you spray air filter oil on a new air filter prior to install?

Hey guys, sorry for starting a new thread just about this, but I just wanted to make sure: Do you spray air filter oil on a new air filter prior to install?
I just bought the OEM Nissan air filters for my 2007 G35x from Infiniti and I plan on installing them today.

most filters come pre oiled if they are that type of filter..the oem one does not require oil.

edit: you can delete this thread since you created it, no need to muddy the waters!

Thanks for the quick response! Would oil make the OEM filter more effective?

How do I delete the thread afterwards? I was just looking for a button or under thread tools that would delete it but did not see one.

Only oil based filters should be oiled.
Never oil a dry filter.

The OEM filters are dry filters. Oiling them will make them much less efficient. Leave them alone.
Just drop them in and you're done.
