Dealer want to charge me for TSB fixes

Hi all,

Quick question, my 07 G35 is 48000 mile, still under warranty, I took my car in for brake shutter, wheel steer little to the left problems, which are all have TSB for it, but my service consultant said it's an adjustment and I am responsible for the repair. He also said adjustments is only cover during the 1st year. Is this true? Please help

tsb should only be charged if your NOT under warranty.

SInce your in warranty the tsb problems should be fixed.

go to another dealer or call and complain to headquarters.

Are you sure about this? Brakes are not designed to last forever. If this true, those people can get free brakes for 6 years, 60k miles?

I think they only offered 36 months warranty on brakes for the fiasco '03 and '04 models.

but if there is a tsb out for it, then its a known problem that should be fixed.

tsb will be for certain year make, and model cars only.

your're misunderstanding the op and my response.

TSB is known problem, not a ware and tare issue.

A technical service bulletin is designed for dealers to share solutions for common problems. They aren't designed to be considered a warranty problem that's automatically covered. Althouth the dealer WILL sometimes cover problems under warranty that has a TSB to help fix it.

The brake TSB should be done for free (they replace pads & machine the rotors)

The brake TSB should be done for free. I got mine done last November and I wasn't charged anything by the dealer. Go to a different dealer maybe they won't charge you there.

Don't forget there are new splash guards in the TSB as well. It never hurts to call corporate to complain. Infiniti is very concerned about their image. If the same were to happen to your Nissan, you likely will be paying for everything. They have a TSB for brake judder too but my coworker went to the dealer and they would not comp anything.

As for the car veering to the left, I think you get one free alignment within the first 15,000 miles or so.

I know about TSB but I just think that those are for cars w/ problems sooner than normal. This car has 48k miles already. If the car has only 20k miles, I would agree w/ you.

^^who cares if it has 48,000 miles if it's still under warranty the TSB should be covered for free. I just had my rotors resurfaced last week as well with 35,xxx miles free of charge.

I got my brake pads replaced and rotors resurfaced under warranty @26,000 miles due to the squeak noise. I've had that noise since I bought the car. Went to a dealer several times, but they refused to fix it because they couldn't replicate it. Finally, when I brought in the TSB printout, they fixed it with no questions asked. So try that. Print the TSB and take it with you. It might work.

Well, that's good for you then. In 2006, I went to a dealer in S. jersey w/ my '05 coupe w/ 11k miles b/c the rotor was bad. They told me since I didn't buy the car from them, they will not do it for free. I needed to take the car back to the dealer where I got the car to have it fixed.
