Dogs in the car
My dog may not be a good example, because she's ten pounds and most of that is fur
But she doesn't do anything to the leather - she DID trash the plastic door handles (the ones in the armrests). Our model year scratch really easily anyway, but she destroyed them and I had to replace.
BTW, the front ones are relatively cheap, the rear are $70 each
I still have the scratched ones...

I have a ...well kind of dog. Maybe around 8-10lbs. He rides in the G all the time with no issue. Nails trimmed down low all the time. All the damage he did in the car was the previously mentioned nose marks on the passanger side window. We took him with us on the long trip to the east coast with no issue at all. 18 hours drive.
I love my car but I love the dog even more. He is part of the family. Even if something would happen well it is just a car. You have a better chance to ruin the car with a little kid than the well trained dog. I think.

6 kids and 7 grandkids

My Siberian Husky will never be allowed in the G. She sheds like no other and she cant sit still in a car...always has to have her head out a window. That's why I kept my 97 Explorer. It's the dog's car. Even the Explorer has a Cabela's seat cover in the back though. Make's clean up so much easier.
Hell no, she's the coolest dog I know - when she goes crazy and races around the house, she does stuff that actually defies physics
