Oil Change?

Myy 08 does not. You have to drop the whole shield.

My 07 and now my 09 both had the "hinged" plastic cover. If you remove the back 4 bolts the plastic cover folds down at the "hinge" and gives you access to the plug & filter. Your 08 should be the same (not sure about the X models) but Base,Journey & Sport are that way.

My 08 has a rigid one piece cover.

There are several configurations of lower engine covers. I think there is even one with a trap door. Although my lower shield is hinged, it will not allow access to the filter and drain.

I'd still prefer to remove the whole thing so I can just take a look around to see if everything is OK while I am under there and so I can dump out any road gravel that has accumulated on the shield.

Nope! I didn't notice it when I changed my oil. Someone said it's thee. I went and checked again. Not on mine.

That's so strange that they would make a different pan for the 08, maybe it depends on the region the car is sold? Oh well, glad mine have had it
