squealing windows
squealing windows
the dealer says to put grease inside the rubber to prevent this but theat leaves an inch of greasy residue on my windows when its rolled up.
anybody have any easier way of doing this?

Mine only squeal when they are wet and that is only since the tint was put on.
Some people replace the OEM rubber with a softer felt strip to avoid eventual marks on the tint. A softer felt would not squeal.
I would not, however, lubricate them with grease, as this will get all over your windows.
I'd rather listen to 5 seconds of squeal than have greasy windows, but that's just me.

I use a thin coat of pure silicone grease in all the grooves, and around the doors, trunk, hood, etc (all the rubber gaskets). No residue on the windows, safe for the rubber, no squeaking. Only takes a very thin coat and it's great protection.
This may or may not be related.
Although my windows don't squeal, the tint on my drivers door window is beginning to show vertical scratches near the middle of the window. I recently noticed that the rubber on the "inner guide" was twisted and will require a trip to the dealer.
To see what I mean, open your window all the way down and slightly pull apart the window seal at the bottom near the middle of the opening. You should easily be able to see down inside the door and see the glass and guide. The "felt" lined rubber on the inside guide next to the glass was twisted and the smooth rubber side is now rubbing against the tint.
Maybe this could be a source of your squeal?

+1 on this. It also "cured" my slow rolldown/rollup. I used silicone spray instead.
