Awful, Thankfully everyone is okay I assume, which is most important. But yeah rough, good luck +1 for the conversion if you can, post some pics. BTW it looks like it got hit by a trian, seriously.

how is that even possible at 10mph? lol, musta been much higher speed ...

Did you spin around and cause rear damage or did the impact ripple all the way through to the rear? That thing is going to be totaled if its the second case. Damage is easily gonna be 50-60% of the value of that car

No one was hurt thankfully. I hit a 2006 Chrysler 300 directly on the side starting at rear of front tire and he continued moving at right angle to me sheering the bumper off. Could have been faster than 10mph but not much faster. No rear damage other than maybe the fender liner. Body shop said they could go to $20k and only be at 95% of threshold of value. So it won't be totalled at 11 to 13k. Car still started right up after the accident and nothing was leaking. Lots of repair work though to rebuild the front end though.

10mph for him.
the other driver could have been flying and yanked the whole front end off.

I'm sorry to see that this happened to your G. It is very upsetting but thankfully no one was hurt in the accident, that is the most important thing. Cars and parts can be replaced, however, the safety of yourself and others cannot.

May I ask what were the circumstances of the accident? I know you said you T-Boned the 300 and he continued moving, which is what sheered your bumper off, but did he run a red light or a stop sign? I'm just curious is all.

I went into the intersection on a yellow and I think he jumped a bit early on the green even though I was still in the intersection.

Think my car will ever be good as before?

I'd definitely do a 2010 front end conversion if I were you.

It will be better then new once they fix it (as long as they did a good job). I rear ended someone with my 05' FX and did what looks like almost the exact same damage you did with almost the exact same price tag. It took about a week to fix and the car was like brand new when I got it back. I sold it pretty quickly though to a friend who has owned for about 20k miles after me and has said it is in pristine condition still. I used that money to get myself the 08' G that I have now.

Get after the ins. company for diminished value after the full repair cost is done.

I bet that 11.5k estimate will go up alot once they start actual repairs.

If you went into the intersection on a yellow then the other driver had to have left on or ran a Red.
Traffic lights are programmed so that after your light turns Red there is a 2 second delay and then the opposite direction traffic light turns from Red to Green.

So sorry to hear about your accident.

Thanks for all the well wishes.

I think he left early into the intersection but you would be surprised how little time there is between a red light in one direction and a green in the other. I work right where this accident occurred and see the almost instant change between red and green. I don't know why the city does or allows this.
