Reset mine by running the battery flat somehow. Now I get quicker response when accelerating, holds longer in gear and I get 1-2 mpg more.

it can never hurt to reset the ecu, but its not something you wanna do to often as you need the ecu to learn all the values and maximize the fuel efficiency and power.
