Having some issues with my car can anyone diagnose what they mean?

Hey, I'm having some wierd issues with my car and would appreciate it if anyone could diagnose what is causing them

I have a 2008 infiniti g35xs which i leased new and now has 29k miles on it.

The issues I'm having is every time i drive it after a couple mins of driving the VDC off light and slip light turn on and stay on and other then turning on and off the car they wont go away.

the other issue I have is that whenever i accelerate moderately hard right around 35 - 40 mph from stop if i havent gotten off the gas (highway merge)

the red brake light comes on and until i get completely off the gas for a couple seconds it doesnt go away (and the engine also seems to cut off)

if anyone could let me know what this is i would greatly appreciate it thanks

Why don't you take it to the dealership?

the brake light is likely just low fluid, nothing serious. when you accelerate the fluid backs away from the sensor, turning on the light. add a little bit and it should go away. take care not to add too much because when you change your brake pads the fluid level will rise up considerably and you don't want it to overflow.

the engine cutting off though, the rpms just dip down and come up? you might need to clean your throttle bodies, i was having the same issue until i did. but dont disregard that symptom, be sure to keep an eye on it.

regarding your VDC and slip light that sounds like a sensor issue but you definitely want to have the dealer take a look. maybe someone else can lend some information.

apexi - normally i would agree with you but in many of the cases i'm seeing (and mine) the dealer is an hour or more away and it's very inconvenient to go there. luckily we have alot of knowledegable people here!

I have experience similiar. The brake light coming on **but not staying on and the slip coming on which does stay on until I turn off and back on** The slip light doesn't come on and stay on in every situation that I break traction only certain times. Good luck to you my man.

Remmy is right about the fluid** and about people living 1hr+ from dealerships

+1 this shouldn't cost you anything. also you can try calling your local nissan dealership and see if they will honor the warranty, maybe they can help if they are closer.

mine was the same. Top off the fluid. I actually was buying it from the dealership and this was happening on my test drive. The tech's at Infiniti had it for an hour or so before I googled it on my phone. Brought me straight to this site. First post I read talked about the fluid situation. I told the tech to top off and it was fixed. g35driver FTW on this one. Infiniti FTL
