My car is missing seat belt retainer button

the one that goes on the seat belt that doesn't let the clip in fall all the way down. My car is salvage. I called Nissan which was right by my work and they said I needed to call Infiniti because the seatbelt comes as one whole unit. I did not tell them my car was salvage. Would the dealership still cover something like this? I'll call tomorrow to find out. I've noticed some replacement ones online, might do that if Infiniti won't do it or offer a replacement.

Infiniti will find out that its a salvage as soon as they plug in your VIN into their system and from that point on will not really cover most of the things on the car, especially those that can easily be contributed to the accident, like the seat belt retainer.

yea, that's what i'm assuming. That's the reason I don't want to call them and would rather just buy that button from somewhere.

^ wont hurt or cost you anything to try it though, give em a call and see if they'll check it out else they will let you know on the phone probably if they can or cannot cover the repair due to the accident.

When I worked for Chrysler you needed to buy a whole belt to get the little button. When they discovered that they were replacing $200.00 belts for a 10 cent button on warranty, they came out with a TBS to address the button replacement. You might look into this with Infiniti or Nissan.
