Hey since you got me looking again did a search and came up with a great option. Its called z performance they make a direct fit replacement with a doggy door to get to the oil easy.

same problem here, looks like i gotta look at these links too, i was gonna take it to the dealership and see if they were gonna replace it under the warranty

I'd be very surprised if they will replace it under warranty. Technically, it's really an 'accident,' not due to defects in workmanship or product. Usually, those splash shields break because of hitting something underneath the car, like snow/ice/curb/pothole.

there was no accident, i bought it 2 summers ago and never realised till i looked down. we will see.

Yes its not an accident, but it's definitely due to road hazards mentioned previously. That's like saying "Oh, I hit a nail and it flattened my tire. That is covered by my warranty."
