Oakville Infiniti - 2007 G35x Service

Hi,

I just wanted to share and ask for your advise on a few things.

I recently purchased an 2007 G35x that now has 92,500km on it, so still within waranty. Took it to the dealer for the following service bulletins

- Brake Judder - ITB09-037b
- Throttle Sensitivity - ITB08-017a
- FUEL FILLER CAP - ITB07-019
- WIND NOISE FROM REAR DOOR GLASS - ITB07-004
- Wiper replacement - ITB08-038

The brake judder they said they could do but it's not under warranty since the previous owner had after market brakes. That is understadable, but they still charged me for inspection - $55
The Throttle Sesitivity, and what really bugs me is that they said this is only covered up to 60km and they will charge me $108 for the ECU update. Does this sound right to you guys? I called customer service 1-800-361-4792, but i'm not sure if that's the right number. She didn't know what this buletin was, but she opened a case anyway.
Fuel and wind noise they will take care of no problem.
Also, the wiper seems to be covered up to 20k only as per dealer.
Is anyone buying the $108 charge for the ECU update?

Throttle Sensitivity - ITB08-017a which is basically an ECU update should therefore be free...

If anyone knows otherwise, please let me know.

whoa i hope you have time to stop them from doing the ecu update. i read many feedback saying the update will dull the throttle response; WHY would you even want that????? i love my g35x's throttle response, its almost as direct as cabled throttle body

To be honest with you, I’ve never driven a car this sensitive, and I had similar pedal setups on previous cars (Benz and bmw). I think it's a matter of taste. I've seen the feedback and some love it, some hate it. I don't hate it, but I could use a smoother ride. If I really want to aggressiveness I’d switch it in DS but I like my 22mpg or 10.6 L/100km so I’ll stick with the regular D

Final success - The dealer did the throttle ITB at no charge, as it should have been. It's unfortunate it seems us Canadians have to battle with these sort of things though. The gas pedal is so smooth now..no wonder they corrected this with the 08 models and up.

Yeap we pay more and get more hosed. Next car might not be infiniti for me. After the second one and have to battle out some of these things.

Glad to here you get what you suppose to.

I guess Infiniti Canada is not the best.

I've had the exact same experience with Oakville Infiniti. It seems here in Canada, those ITB Service Bulletins do not apply because they are released by the NTSA which is a U.S organization. It's utterly nonsense!

I did, however, get the Throttle Sensitivity fixed under warranty as well as the wind noise. You mentioned the fuel filler cap - what is the issue with this? It's the only item on there I didn't recognize as far as an ongoing issue.

Thanks

Did the ECU flash make a difference?

Guelph Infiniti have excellent customer service.
The TSB's apply in Canada or the dealers wouldn't follow them. I've had 2 TSB related repairs done in Guelph.

Which TSB's did you have done at the Guelph Dealership and is there anyone I could speak with there that you know? The issue I have is that my car is a U.S vehicle. Canadian dealerships seem to hate honoring TSB's for U.S vehicles.

I remember seeing a sign back last year or the year before at Guelph Infiniti they may not honor warranty work on cars purchased in the states. However I have not seen that sign since.
