Subinstall, need a little help please
I have a 2008 g35x sedan. I did searches on here and myg37.com couldn't find which wire to tap the rcas into. please help.
the 2008 have two amps i believe. I have a service manual on a disc(cheapo one) and it doesn't show the wiring diagram. I have attached a pic. thanks.
the connector has the follwing wire on them:
a thicker gague black (power or ground)
yellow (power or ground)
they supply the power to the smaller amp.
then it has
light blue
purple
black
white
the black might be ground. the other ones are amp turn on and + and -. thanks. kevin

if i connect to the wires before the smaller amp I should be good. right? I would than have to go the main amp to get the remote turn on. what wire is that. thanks for the help QUOTE]

Look in the FSM. The wires are all identified and you are right that those are line level bass to the bose powered sub. The FSM will also identify which is the turn-on signal. Sorry I don't remember the specifics.
thanks, i don't have the full service manual that's why i was asking. I just have the $10 cheap cd rom. I have narrowed it down to two wires for the + and -. I have to go get a mulit meter and see if they will read different numbers so i can tell the + and - apart.

i think the purple and gray are the + and - and the light blue is the remote but i am going to get it off the main amp.

**** man you rock, It took me over 40 minutes since my last post to find the connector. I will verify that I found the same info.
V (vilolet) is the woofer negative
SB (slightly blue i guess) is the woofer positive
grey (amp on) I guess I can connect the remote amp turn on here instead of at the main amp.
If someone wants to connect at the main amp (not sure why) it will be the violet color on teh 12 pin connector. it is the third one on the lower row. Now, I am gonna get this finished up maybe after the upc fight.
thanks Mishmosh & Kool_yaar and the rest of the G-family.

i decided to ditch the y adapter and cut an rca cable. I hooked everything to the sub-connector. It works but only one problem. the amp is still on when i turn the radio off. the gray wire is suppose to be a remote on but for some reason it stays on. Maybe I didn't find a good ground point. at least it kicks really hard with the jl 500 / diamond audio 10" sub. I think i m going to go the main bose connector and tap the remote from there. it was loud enuf that my wife came in the garage to tell me i m gonna wake the neighbors. lol
glad to hear that you got it working with the rca cable, as for the remote im pretty sure i tapped the grey one but could have gotten it from the main bose connector too, i did it a few years back so will have to recheck
I taped off where I got my remote on from the sub. I went to the B41 connector and took it off the remote amp on from there. Violet wire (slot 20). The amp remains on if I turn the radio off. It only turns off when I turn the car off. I guess this is normal. I figure that the amp should only turn on when I turn the radio off and should turn off when I turn the radio off. Can you check to see if your amp turns off when you turn the radio off.
