Unhappy with how car is holding up

I have a 07 G-35 Journey, pretty much fully loaded with only 26,000 miles. I am in the military and deployed a lot so the car spends a lot of time parked in my garage. When I got the car it had a rattle either coming from the passenger seat or sunroof area that the dealer hasn't been able to locate and fix. Additionally, I have had two more rattles start in the dashboard area over the past 4,000 miles. Some other problems I have had with the interior is the plastic coming off the drivers side handle and the dashboard warping and peeling up about the instrument counsel. Here are some pictures:

I guess my main concern is that I paid $38,000 for this car and it only has 26,000 miles on it and this is starting to happen. The car is kept in a garage when it's not being driven and the windows are tinted for the day. Infiniti is supposed to be Nissan's premire line of cars but I had a 350Z before the G35 and didn't have any of these problems.

What are everyone's thoughts on this? I am afraid to see what the interior is going to look like at 50,000 miles.

Matt

do you wear rings? Because I have had my car for 40k + and my door handles are spotless and my trim pieces are in place.. The rubbery trim on the 07 that peels is a known issue (I have an 07 but have been careful not to scratch it) but a ton of people have gotten it replaced under warranty by the dealers.

those are prolly the 2 most common things to go wrong/bad/break on the 07+ g35 sedan. from the looks of it, you got some dirty *** hands with nails or else the door pulls wouldnt look so bad, but yes the rubber coating on them is easily scratchable....just like the trim around the steering wheel switches. quit bein a baby and get it replaced under warranty. the rattle might be coming from the wiper cowl itself makin the tickin/crackin noise in the dash area. get it checked out.

Just my wedding ring but I never have my hand sittind down there, will have to check where the ring sits when I close the door. If the dealer replaces it under warranty will it be the same piece that I can expect the same problems out of?

The sunroof rattle is common on the G series. I had mine fixed under warranty. All it was, was a few "loose" railing bolts. However, the entire headliner had to be removed to retorque the bolts.

And don't expect Toyota Quality from a Nissan / Infiniti vehicles.

The door weather stripping on my neighbors 2002 Celica still looks brand new!

The door molding on my G already shows signs of wears. A closer inspection shows that the Toyota molding is more durable. The G is made of some cheap-*** thin rubber.

Also, EVERYTHING in the G gets loose. Which causes it to rattle.

Including the windows and the rear axle bolts.

I dont remember if the 08 and 09 fits but I think that if u get it under warranty and not on your own, they have to give you a year to year replacement (07).. and yeah, check your ring.. another option is wrapping it in vinyl or painting it. Vinyl is and easy DIY but its hard to find a color to match to the wheat interior..

They should replace the handles and steering console all under warranty, they fixed mine. I don't even wear rings and my nails are short, just a manufacturer defect. My steering wheel and handles started looking just like that and was such an eye sore. All TSB's. Take it to the dealer, have them replace the console, steering wheel and door handles. No worries.

The loaners I get from the dealer looks just like that...but why yours looks that bad if you don't even drive it much is a mystery. Two years after everything was replaced and no scratches anywhere so I guess its a different material. I'm definitey happy with the switch.

Looks like the plastic is painted? This is complete fail. Even the plastics in my previous S2K was molded black plastic, not painted. Love how the plastic panel are falling out of place. LOL

Infiniti, doing things half-@$$ed is the slogan.
