water in engine during rain help

whenever i drive in the rain my engine has a lot of steam coming from the engine. is this normal? anyone experiencing this problem?

It's normal.
It's not coming from the engine but the area in front if it.

Once i went thru a huge puddle (no way of avoiding it) and had steam come from my hood/headlight area, scared the crap out of me but i didnt think much of it. car runs the same as before.

well for me its kind of embarrassing, some nice guy pointed out the steam when i pulled up to a 7/11.

I drove my car today for the first time in the rain and when i got home i saw smoke/steam coming from front grill..i go oh no...then thought of this thread..you can put your face to it and just tell by feel and smell it's just steam

I agree, a tad bit embarrassing. A breezed through a couple other threads but didn't come across exactly why the G is so prone to doing this. My past cars never had this problem and were cheaper cars than this. Aeson, have any ideas?
