CD player vs AUX

i've noticed that the sound quality from the AUX seems to be superior to the sound coming from the cd player. i have the exact same mp3's on my phone that i have on my cds, but for some reason, it sounds much better through the AUX.

is there any way to get the cd player to sound as good as the AUX? will it make a difference if i use better quality cdr's?

I've not noticed this. I most frequently use my mp3 player hook to the aux but when I don't feel like playing with the player I just listen to my mp3 cds through the cd player.

Most likely it is some eq setting in your phone that is making the file sound better to you.

Shouldn't be strange. every music source will sound differently. Just like radio stations V. CDs

my cd sounds loads better than when i hook up my iphone through the dock connector. the bass seems to be not as good, and it sounds a bit more hollow. maybe its just me i dunno.

CD sounds better, no doubt , crisp tones and no fuzzy bass

It also depends on what you play in your CD player. If you play low bitrate burned CR-Rs, then the sound quality of CD is obviously going to suffer. On the same disk, I can have several different bitrate tracks - some sound great, others not so much. Try a "regular" store-bought CD vs a burned disk and see if there is a significant difference.

i think the OP said he has the same files playing on the cd and the mp3 player..

one thing that could be happening is your cd burner is compressing your mp3s into 128kbps or whatever while you're playing them at a higher untouched bit rate from the mp3 player. or what gtbigup01 said and the sources just reproduce sound differently..

radio < cd < aux?

interesting. i'm just using windows explorer to write the files on to a cd. anyone know if windows explorer changes the bitrate when writing mp3s?

a redbook cd should be the best audio quality because of the DAC in the dash. then i'd guess a lossless audio track on an ipod (or other player), then various levels of compressed mp3s.
