Been reading a few posts after searching that there are no aftermarket struts available for 08 G35.

Has anyone heard whether Koni or Tokico are planning to release something this year?

 

Tokiko "was" supposed be working on the D-specs, but nothing new has hit the web as of late.

You can always buy the TK modded Bilsteins for over 2K lol.

 

Yeh ha, I've been seeing you reply to the others about those Bilsteins. I think I will pass on those hehe. I actually like the way the OEM is but I was just hoping for something from Koni. I guess we'll have to wait a bit longer.

 

Tokico currently has their HP struts for the G37 coupe. I installed them on my sedan without a single issue. The suspension parts are interchangeable between the two. Only difference is that the weight will of course be setup for the coupe.

What was the cost for those?

I've used blues in the past, and they weren't impressive at all. Just MHO.

 

I can PM you the price I payed but if you like your OEM setup Tokico is who makes them for us.

 

KYB has GR-2 rears available now, so the fronts shouldn't be that far behind. I had GR-2's on my previous ride with progressive rate drop springs and they handled nicely, much better than the Tokico OEM's.

 

Oh that's cool to know Tokico is the maker of the OEM stuff. Might stick with OEM then for a bit.

 

That price is not bad for someone who's not wanting to drop the coin for C/O's or who doesn't "need" them. You came out about half the price of the BC's by going that route it seems

Either way, now there's an option for people who already have springs and don't want to bother selling them or throwing them in a box in the garage and replacing them with C/O's. They're not for me but will satisfy most people's needs.

 

That was my reason for going the Eibach/Tokico route. I know I would never use the adjustable setting but wanted to be lowered with a stiffer strut that could cope better then the OEM setup.

I have only been on them less then a week but am very pleased so far.

How is the ride with the Eibach/Tokico's? I have never driven a car on coilovers but keep reading how people with c/o's say the ride with lowering springs suck. Is it because of the progressive springs? To me, the Eibachs ride very similarly to stock. They could use more damping from the struts/shocks, but you should get that with your Tokico HP's.
