G35x vs G37x loaner
Took my 2008 base G35x in for a cluster lid replacement and somehow they broke my windshield during the repair. They didn't have the windshield in stock so they gave me a 2010 G37x loaner. Loaner has every option except Nav.
My impressions of the G37:
G35 better low end G37 better high end. Pulling out of the dealer lot G37 seems sluggish at the start compared to my G35 but then as RPMs build G37 seems faster then G35.
The 5AT on the G35 is way smoother then the 7AT on the G37. I did not like the 7 speed at all. Very abrupt downshifts and in slow moving traffic (30-40MPH) it was constantly changing gears. Think there is a TSB for this…definitely needs it.
Handling..G37 seems a little tighter and rides a little better but may not be fair comparison...G37 only has 10K miles my G35 has 42K.
The G37 gets better gas mileage. I average 22 in my G35 and was getting 24 with the G37. This could be attributed to the 7 speed tranny in the G37. The RPMs in the G37 were lower for any giving speed. In my G35 the RPM’s are just below 3000 at 75 MPH. In the G37 the RPM’s were 2500 at 75 MPH.
Road Noise – no noticeable difference between the two. This really depends on tires.
Rattles – same …the usual… dash, rear deck, glove box.
Bose system is better than my base system but not as nice as my new Alpine/Boston Acoustics setup![Smilie](https://g35driver.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
G37 has white gauges instead of red. Like the red better but this is personal opinion.
G37 heated seats have a **** with 6 temperature settings. The G35 has a simple switch with Hi and Low settings.
G37 center console has less storage space and is difficult to open with one hand. You have to lift your arm and then press down on a release button then lift.
XM radio sound quality still sucks in the G37.
