Hello all,

The sunroof is stuck tilted up and will not close. When pressing the retract button there is a very loud grinding noise....is the sunroof off the tracks? whats a quick fix for this since i cannot get into the dealership for a few days...thanks

try pulling down the headliner and re plugging it in, you can do so by poppin it down, you dont have to take it off just look above lights for plug.

^ i dont think its a connection problem since he's the button responds and he hears grinding, my guess something rolled in between the sunroof track try to run you fingers through the track son both sides and the horizontal length you might find some twig or something stuck in there if no then its probably off the track.

yeah this is a tough one....if you need a quick fix have someone pull forward on it while you press the button, you may jump the tracks but at least it will close.

oh man my sunroof got stuck also, it was feeling nice out tonight (been thunderstorms passing thru the last few days) and my sunroof went halfway back then it got stuck and started making a grinding sound. hit the button to close and it closed and went to a tilted position one corner was shut but the other corner (left was open) tried to close/open again and it got worst and now is really stuck tilted.

hopefully it doesn't rain tonight

I had the same problem and the dealer replaced the motor under warranty. Sorry, I don't know if there is a way to close it manually though.

dealer fixed mine under warranty (less than 2 hours), like I read in other threads it was a screw(s) that came loose

Same thing happened to mine...I wonder if this is common for everyone that had their sunroof replaced. Mine was replaced under warranty because of the cracking issue. But then about 6 months later it got stuck open and made that weird grinding noise. took it in and tech said the screws had come out. He put the screws back in and I was on my way. Weird that a few people have had the same issue.

seems like it an easy fix, just peek in there and see if you can see if the screws have come out of the motor that connects to the sunroofs mechanisms.
