Hood and bumper repainted...

I was looking at my hood and almost threw up in disgust... i bought this thing CPO 9 months ago (2008 g35x w/ 23k) without a single scratch, rock chip, or anything... and now i have a cluster of rock chips at the center of the hood and i only put on 12k. I was contemplating using dr. colorchip, but to be honest i dont think it'll perform any miracles.

anyone here get their hood and bumper repainted? i know it varies depending on the region and the shop, but i just wanted to get a rough idea...

also, how hard is it for a shop to match the paint color? my car is liquid platinum... i never had a car painted before so i dont know if its normal for the paint to be a little bit "off" and i have to live with it, or if majority of the shops find it easy to match the color with the rest of the car.

I have liquid platinum as well. I had my rear bumper painted by a professional shop and the color and look is PERFECT!!! I had my front bumper painted by a mobile person and the color is VERY color, but at the right angle you can see it's a little off.

If you are serious, get it painted by a professional shop and then drive it/tow it to your nearest clear bra shop!

Here is a picture of my front bumper:

And the rear:

Hey KulG35, is that a vinyl underlay on the back bumper or is that painted?

you sold me... that front bumper looks like it matches 100% in my eyes... so if you think that's a little off, i can definitely live with it. how much did the spraying cost?

I am also contemplating clear bra, wish the stupid dealer told me about it when i bought this damned thing. I was reading it goes for like 400+ is that right?

If you are getting your bumper and hood repainted by a professional shop, tell them add an extra coat or two of clear. That should help eliviate "most" rock chips and is much cheaper than a clear bra/install costs.
