Advice Needed: 07 or 08 G35-S - which to buy?
Newbie so easy on me.
Which should I buy: (1) 2007 G35S (Sport) Sedan or (2) 2008 G35XS (sport) Sedan?
As I understand it, the "07" is only RWD, comes with different size rear and front tires and the "08" version of the sport comes both AWD and RWD (after a certain speed). I believe the "08" has the same size rear/front tires.
In driving both, the only major difference is the exhaust sound on the "07", sounds a little like the coup. And of course the RWR fun.
So.....looking for your advice, is it worth dropping an additional $3k for the "08"?
Any other advice would be welcomed.

Yeah, if you don't particularly have a need for an AWD car, I see no need to get one; more moving parts, more to maintain, more to break, etc. etc.
FWIW, my '07 has been pretty solid for me so far (48k miles), no issues other than brake judder.

I would look for an 08 S sedan and not an xS sedan. Keep in mind that X's are limited to even less aftermarket support than a RWD sedan. That's the main reason why I personally prefer RWD over AWD. I guess depending on where you live, AWD might come in more handy / practical for you. In the end, do whatever makes U happy bro. GL with your decision.

what about performance in rain or snow? AWD will always make a superior car overall its more blalanced, more and more supercars are now coming AWD (Veyron, Lamborghini, etc..) just because 4 wheels is obviously better than 2. The only point is yes it can be fun to do donut in the winter with a RWD.

Same year & miles as VQsmile...Only issue I've had is brade judder otherwise the cars been perfect. (07, 48k)
Too, I live in the snow belt. Minny to be specific. I choose RWD because I knew that snow tires would be the way I was going to go. Yes its more effort when the snow begins / ends, but I didn't want the slightly lower mpg the awd gives you, the extra weight, and have to deal with a set of tires that could do it "all".
Too, this way my summer rims stay perfectly clean, and my winter rims get the chemicals & salt...
My Blizzak LM-60's are incredible in the snow as well...never had any issues either.
There's advantages either way you go. Some people might want what I just spun as not something I desired, a tire that can do it all, and no desire whatsoever to change out rims...all personal preference
